Newsletter 11.20

11/20/2009

Our new goal for behavior is to make it one month where everyone is on green. When we meet this goal, we get to have lunch together in our classroom.
Some students need extra practice with rhyming, blending sounds together to make words, and taking a word and breaking it apart into the different sounds. Any extra work at home would be very helpful! J
Our Alphafriend this week was Hattie Horse and she helped us learn the “H” sound.
In Math, we worked in centers on different math skills. (For example at one center, students worked on patterns. At another center, students worked on identifying numbers.)
On the Snack Calendar for November, I realized I left the 30th blank. I will provide treats for students on that day. Sorry for any confusion!
There will be NO SHOW AND TELL next week due to the short week.
We will have a new student on Monday so please make sure you have your child bring 21 treats instead of 20!!
On Tuesday (November 24th), we will be travelling to Newton High School to enjoy a Holiday movie. Students’ ticket in is to bring one canned food item.
There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of next week due to Thanksgiving Break.
If you could please wash your child’s rest towel and have them bring it back on November 30th that would be much appreciated! I will be sending these home on Tuesday, November 24th.
Just a reminder that if you drop off your child early, please make sure he/she goes outside to the playground to wait in line until I pick them up at 8:05. If it is raining, they line up in the gym.
I will not be sending a newsletter next week because it is such a short week.

Our Alphafriend this week was Benny Bear again and he helped us learn the beginning “B” sound.
In Math, we worked in centers on different math skills. (For example at one center, students worked on patterns. At another center, students worked on numbers.)
